Outreach
Malawi Mission
Malawi is a landlocked country that borders Mozambique, Tanzania, and Zambia. It is also one of the smallest countries in Africa. Malawi’s economy is largely dependent on rain-fed agriculture, a fact that has often worked against the country’s development. True Freedom has built 21 homes for the homeless in Malawi. We consistently feed, clothe, and support the education of our brothers and sisters in this highly impoverished area. We have a goal of building homes for 100 families within the next two years. Each home costs $800. We have made it this far with 21 homes, and we believe with your help, we can build the final 79.
Other Outreaches
Baby Bank Ministry
The Diaper Giveaway, affectionately known as the Baby Bank Ministry is a hand to parents in their time of need. Babies can be expensive. Diapers, formula, baby wipes and a host of other baby items can be hard to come by in a tough economy. We simply collect the items and we give them away as needed to those who can use them the most. This is one of the most touching ministries to see. Young mothers and even young fathers come out to receive help for their children. We do our best to show the love of Christ to these young families.
Fill The Fridge
Fill the Fridge Ministry is an amazing ministry that blesses and always puts a smile on everyone’s face. We simply do as the title says. We go fill the refrigerator of those in need or we even go to schools, police departments, factories, or any place with a break room refrigerator and we fill their fridge. We do this to show love and thanks for those who protect our communities, teach our children, build our vehicles, or anywhere else to show the love of Jesus. We leave information from our church and ask them if they would like us to pray for them. There is always someone who finds their way to our website to request prayer. This is an outstanding ministry. We try to go out and do this in mass every three months. Come be a part if you like.
Tent City Ministry
Tent City Ministry reaches out to the mini tent cities spread out all throughout the Chicagoland areas. We give hot meals, sandwiches, clothing, and every now and then a couple of weeks of motel space. Many homeless people are in transition and simply need a boost. Many others are dealing with addiction and mental illness. We may never solve the problem completely, but we can do our best to share in the many blessings that the Lord has given to our church.
